K’TANIM
We had an amazing first week in Ktanim! We had some awesome evening programs, including a scavenger hunt where we searched for ingredients to make the Israeli snack “Krembo” and our Messy Night where we blew bubbles, mixed paint with our hands, and made Oobleck. We also had our unit Teva experience where we learned how to use a map and compass and constructed a shelter out of things in nature. We’re so excited for what our second week will bring!

BONIM
Bonim had an incredible first week at Eisner camp! We spent our first night getting our counselors messy while learning about them and about our bunks. We continued the week with swim tests, saving camp from pirates, the Fourth of July carnival, and getting “the Mo” not once, but twice. A huge highlight came Thursday night when we all got to meet our Olim buddies and learn about camp with them. We brought in the first Shabbat together and danced and sang with our Olim buddies, bunk mates, and counselors. It was an exciting first week, and we can’t wait to see what this week will bring!

CHALUTZIM
Chalutzim is off to an amazing start! We got right into the swing of camp enjoying our daily activities in sports and arts as well as participating in unique nightly activities. Last week our campers enjoyed evening activities where they got to know their counselors while getting them messy, learning about historical figures and their impact on society, and making s’mores around a campfire together. On Wednesday all of camp came together and enjoyed the Fourth of July Carnival including playing games for prizes, dunking leadership team members, and indulging in some patriotic sweets. Also throughout the week each bunk participated in low ropes where they worked as a bunk to learn about teamwork, respect, and community values. We finished out our week with Shabbat as we enjoyed the cooler weather and got ready for week two!

OFARIM
Ofarim has had a wonderful first week of camp! We’ve had so much fun getting to know each other and exploring all of camps activities together. We had a Get-To-Know-Your-Counselors evening program, where campers became closer with their staff, and even got to get messy! We danced the night away at a B’Nai Mitzvah evening program, where we learned the Hora and had a candle lighting ceremony. We also had a scavenger hunt evening program where the campers worked with the Scooby-Doo gang to help solve a mystery! Lastly, Ofarim did a beautiful job of leading Friday night Shabbat T’filah! We’ve had a great first week, and are ready to take on the rest of the session!

CHAVERIM
The first week of camp has been very exciting. After moving into the bunks, campers and counselors reunited and we welcomed in the summer as a camp with our opening ceremony, full of songs and dance. Many of our bunks had Teva this week. Teva is camp’s outdoor nature experience where they spent an afternoon hiking and a night sleeping in tents under the stars. Our evening programs this week were get to know your counselors, a night of getting messy and learning about the amazing staff, an improv night of games and unit bonding, and a campfire about mindfulness. The biggest highlights were the Fourth of July carnival and celebrating Shabbat together as a camp community. Looking forward to another great week!

TZOFIM
Last week was our first week at camp, and it was an exciting one for Tzofim! We started all of our activities on Monday after a hot opening day, and all of our campers participated in chugim, art and instructional sports. We had evening programs to get to know all of our counselors, and many of them got pied in the face at the end for an added fun bonus! Wednesday night we all participated in the 4th of July carnival, where we enjoyed snow cones, popcorn and hay rides. The night finished off with a band playing all-American classics! Tzofim is very excited for the upcoming week and are happy to be leading T’filah for all of camp next Saturday.

OLIM
In the first week of camp, Olim braved the sweltering heat and pouring rain to step into their role as leaders on camp. The unit has embraced the responsibility of leading T’filah, engaging in spirited Friday night song session and Israeli dance, and reflecting on their unique position as the oldest campers at Eisner during “Becoming Olim.” Some popular highlights this past week included meeting Bonim buddies, bonding at our unit campfire, and beginning work on the Olim show. Many Olimers are looking forward to the (optional) Olim hike to Bash Bish Falls this week and the trip to Montreal next week.

MACHON
Our first week was action-packed! After our first Shabbat together, we welcomed all of the campers and their families on opening day. Although it was a scorcher, the machon brought smiles, ruach (spirit), and a lot of cheers to make sure opening day was a success for everyone. After opening day, we spent the week learning, reflecting, and growing together as one Kehilla K’dosha (holy community). We are looking forward to doing more internships with units and departments this week, and we can’t wait to see what else the summer has to offer!
