Week Two is in the books…what have all of the units been up to since we last checked in?

K’tanimK'tanim Blog Week 2

It was another fantastic week in K’tanim! We cannot believe K’tanim session 1 is already done! In addition to the new activities we started on Monday, including tennis and ceramics, we had a lot of fun at our Music Night, Magic School Bus, Improv, and Wedding Etiquette evening programs. On Wednesday, we took a trip to an ice cream store and a water park, Bousquet. When we got back, we had a pizza and movie party in our pajamas! For a special treat on our last night of K’tanim sesssion 1, we had a special mo (ice cream treats) before bed! We are so sad to see eleven of our campers going home, but we are excited to see them back next year, and excited for our twelve new friends who began camp this morning!

Bonim

BoniBonim Blog Week 2m had an amazing past week! We had a night of theater games, learned about Greek Mythology during “Mount Bolympos,” and led Shabbat services for all of camp this past Friday night. We welcomed Shabbat with a song, a dance, a wonderful art project, and readings we wrote! We also met and spoke with members of the camp community from 1958 – rishonim – about what camp was like at its inception. Our unit show, The Velveteen Rabbit is really coming together! We are so excited for next week, especially Trip Day to Quassy Park on Wednesday!

ChalutzimChalutzim Blog Week 2

Another week gone by, and Chalutzim is loving everything! Our second week has been full of fun activities, from the Fourth of July carnival to our Finding Dory Pool Party. During the day, campers have enjoyed chugim ranging from making shakshuka in cooking to scoring goals in soccer and climbing the wall at adventure. We can’t wait for this week: Trip Day to Lake Compounce and leading Shabbat services for all of camp on Friday night!

Ofarim

Greetings from OOfarim Blog Week 2farim! We’ve had a very exciting second week of camp! We’ve been pushing through the heat and having a blast at all of our activities, from sports to arts to swimming in the lake. We went all out for the Fourth of July and had so much fun at the carnival. Wednesday morning  was our “Be The One” day. We split into seven groups and went to local organizations around Great Barrington and West Stockbridge to work at community centers, gardens, homeless shelters and more. After just one morning, we really felt like we made a difference in the world around us and we came back to camp fulfilled and ready to end the day with a crazy water balloon fight. We can’t wait for all this week has in store, especially Trip Day to Six Flags!

Chaverim

Chaverim had another amazing week!
Chaverim Blog Week 2We continued to enjoy our chugim, including ultimate frisbee and street hockey! We were lead in T’filah by one of our unit rabbis, and enjoyed learning in our new Kesher courses. One evening, we re-experienced lower camp and looked forward to our future years with a Camp Life Cycles evening program. We also had an intense bunk lip-syncing competition – everyone showed their silly side! We danced and sang as a unit this Shabbat, and cannot wait to visit Lake George for Trip Day this week!

Tzofim
Tzofim Blog Week 2Shalom from Tzofim! So many fun things happened this week! We started the week off right with our annual 4th of July carnival. Campers played carnival games, ate sno cones, and bounced around on giant inflatables. On Tuesday, we played playground games with a twist–the better we did at our games, the messier we could get at the end of the program! It was a whole lot of fun! Some of us also climbed the tower this week. We ended the week by leading all of camp in Shabbat T’filah on Saturday morning. That evening, we learned about the Israeli Palestinian conflict and finished up the night with a meaningful Havdalah service, where we had the opportunity to reflect on our own legacies and potential here on camp. In the coming week, we are going to Cape Cod for Trip Day – we can’t wait!

Olim
Olim Blog Week 2This week we had a great time up on the Hill! We had so many fun evening programs like Messy Night, where we all got a little messy, and Mindfulness Night, where we became in touch with our spiritual side! We have been spending a lot of time hanging out with our friends, making new friends, and bringing the ruach on Friday night! We are all so excited to leave for Canada today. We can’t wait to share everything about our trip to Montreal!
