Check out what our units did during the first week of Summer 2016!

K’tanim

This was a wonderful week in K’tanim! K'tanim Blog Week 1 From the start, we’ve had a great time getting to know each other, touring camp, and playing games on Opening Day. Since Tuesday, we’ve been having so much fun at our activities, including animal farm, soccer, ceramics, painting, Israeli Scouts, self-defense, and more. We’ve also had amazing evening activities so far – a pool party, Eisner Traditions, and Wacky Olympics among them. The pool and Gaga have also been big camper-pleasers so far.

Friday was a really exciting day for K’tanim.  Half of us went to Adventure to climb the tower and go on the giant swing (the other half will go next Friday), and we all went to Teva (the nature program at camp), where we made pizza for lunch, went on a hike, played some games, and ended with a campfire and s’mores.  Afterwards, we got ready for Shabbat and had a great time singing and dancing in song session and Israeli dancing.  K’tanim is really looking forward to more activities, Magic School Bus evening program, and Trip Day coming up this week!

BonimBonim Blog Week 1

Bonim had an incredible first week! We learned about Eisner traditions and played with our Olim Buddies (whom we met on Thursday night) at the Museum of Modern Eisner. Campers participating in drama started rehearsals for our play, The Velveteen Rabbit. We had lots of fun at all our activities, including model airplanes, songleading, cooking, flag football and more! We can’t wait for another great week! Lots of love, Bonim!

Chalutzim

Chalutzim Blog Week 1Chalutzim’s first week has been amazing! From getting to know camp traditions at a Monsters University program, to playing with paint with our counselors, we are off to a “chalutzirrific” summer! We’ve been making new friends, trying new activities, hiking and camping at Teva,
and learning our unit cheer. This summer promises to be super fun, whimsical, and one that is sure to have a positive and lasting impact!

Ofarim

IMG_9306Ofarim has had a super exciting start to first session! We’ve had a blast reconnecting and meeting new friends in our first few evening programs which included “Ofarim-fest,” and “Ofarim vs Zombies.” We also got to lead all of camp in the very first Shabbat T’filah of the summer! We used that opportunity to teach camp about changing perspectives and how we can view this summer as a fresh start. We’ve had so much fun at our first week of activities and we can’t wait for all the fun that’s in store for next week.

Chaverim

IMG_9453Chaverim had a great first week! In our first taste of upper camp, we played, prayed, and learned a lot. We got to know each other at Game Show Night, learned about the influence of Facebook and Twitter on Social Media Night, and enhanced our spirituality. We’ve spent our days going to our activities, ranging from ceramics in the Fine Arts Studio to lacrosse to some activities our counselors are developing. We just had such an incredible Shabbat and we are excited to move into the second week of camp!

Tzofim

JWE_9402The first week of Tzofim 2016 was amazing! Bunks 24 and 1 had a wonderful time hiking and camping at Teva. We had a number of highly successful evening programs in which we looked for “lost” counselors, fought off pirates, and celebrated the diverse range of talents within our unit. We participated in creative chugim (electives), learning to keep camp safe with the help of The Eisner Police Deparment, keep camp hydrated in our hydration chug, and keep camp thinking with the help of our debate team. We finished the week off beautifully with our Shabbat celebration as a full camp. We can’t wait for next week!

Olim

JWE_9875This was a great first week for Olim! We were all so excited to get to camp and see all of our old and new friends! This week we met our Bonim buddies and we were all really excited get to know them! We’ve enjoyed spending time with them. We loved our first Shabbat at camp! We filled Friday night song session and Israeli dance with our energy and ruach! On Saturday, Olim led T’filah for all of camp, sharing the dance, song, art project, and readings that we all worked so hard on. We had such a great first week and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer will bring!
