From Rib Night to Trip Day to Shabbat… what have our units been up to this week?

K’tanim

It was such a wonderful week getting to know our second group of K’tanimers. We had such a blast running around Windy Hill Farm picking blueberries, eating SoCo, and bowling on Trip Day! We really loved the all camp dance last night with DJ Todd Yahney and look forward to another wonderful week!

Bonim

Bonim had a great third week! We started off Sunday with an exciting Rib Night and learned to square dance with our favorite folk band, The Fireflies! Tuesday night was perhaps one of our favorite nights at camp, Alien Invasion! We ran all over searching for the aliens who had invaded camp, all our hard work and perseverance helped us overcome the invasion! The next day we traveled to Quassy Amusement Park for Trip Day and had a blast going on the rides, watching the magic show, and conquering the arcade. We closed out the week with a spirited Shabbat! Next week we are looking forward to our Bonim show, Hagigah and plenty of more Bonim fun!

Chalutzim

This week has been a blast! On Friday, July 14 we led t’filah and spoke about the importance of equality. We also had an amazing time at Lake Compounce. We had a lot of fun in the Lazy River, the awesome rides, and played with our friends all around the park. Plus we put on our coolest and silliest clothes last night for the all camp dance! We are looking forward another great week together!

Ofarim

We’ve been here for 3 weeks and at this point Eisner really does feel like home. This past week was jam packed with new and eventful experiences. After getting our third week of new activities such as Jewish cooking, modern dance, and street hockey, we prepared for our Trip Day. Come Wednesday morning, we geared up with our water bottles and sunscreen for a hot day at Six Flags. We were met with afternoon rainstorms, but still had a ton of fun playing games and satisfying our sweet tooth. The next day half of our unit attended the Kiddish Cup, a sports tournament against neighboring camps. We participated in basketball, ultimate frisbee, tennis, and soccer, and came in second! On Thursday night we had an amazing Spy-themed evening program in which we all got to perfect our spy skills in Manor House. We topped our week off with a beautiful Shabbat, song session, and Israeli dancing on the quad. We are sad to think that we only have one week left of first session, but we are certainly looking forward to a great one!

Chaverim

This week, Chaverim has had many exciting ventures! On Monday, we started preparing for our unit t’filah, which was incredible. On Saturday morning, we led the entire camp in a beautiful service, where the campers participated in dance, song, art, readings, and Torah readings. In the middle of the week, Chaverim embarked on a journey to Lake George for a two-day Trip Day. We spent time on the Million Dollar Beach, where the campers played in the lake, and had time to hang out and relax in the sand. Then we went into the town, where the campers had time to shop and play mini golf. We finished up the first day with a nice dinner cruise around Lake George, and then we went back to a nearby synagogue to sleep. The next day we went to the Fun Spot, where we had the option to play laser tag, ride go carts, play more mini golf, or roller blade. We finished up our trip at Six Flags Great Escape, and then headed back to camp for a good night’s  sleep! We are excited for the last week of camp, although we are sad that the session is ending so soon!

Tzofim

Tzofim had a really great week! We started out the new week with a really fun Rib Night, where we sang and danced the night away with the Fireflies! After that, we left for our amazing two days in Cape Cod! In Cape Cod we enjoyed a beautiful sunset boat ride, mini golf, bowling, and so much more! We had a lot of fun this week on our many adventures and we cannot wait to see what the last week of first session brings!

Olim

This week, Olim packed up our bags and left the Bubble for a great time in Montreal. As we crossed over the border into a new world, the campers conversed and built their excitement on their way to places like La Ronde (Canadian Six Flags), white water jet boating, ice skating, the old port of Montreal, and so much more. After our experience there had come to an end, we curbed our sweet tooth at the Ben and Jerry’s factory in Burlington, VT as we toured how their flavors are made and got to sample some of our own. Eventually we made it back safe and satisfied to the 01230, looking both back on such a quintessential Eisner experience, and forward to the last week to come. Greetings from the top of the hill!
